Bréagha Selfridge and Finlay Moore

We are incredibly proud to share that two of our young Hamilton Bulls players, Bréagha Selfridge and Finlay Moore, had the amazing opportunity to meet the Scotland Senior Men’s Team at their Captain’s Run ahead of this weekend’s Six Nations clash.

A huge thank you to Vodafone for hosting Bréagha and Finlay and for making the day such a special experience. It’s fantastic to see grassroots rugby being recognised and included in opportunities like this, rather than these moments being limited to corporate hospitality. It truly means a lot to clubs like ours and the young players coming through.

A special moment came when ex-Bull and Scotland star Jonny Gray spotted the familiar Hamilton jerseys in the stands. He took the time to chat with Bréagha and shared that her dad, John Selfridge, was a major inspiration and mentor in his rugby journey. (Though, to be fair, Jonny was quick to name-check Hamilton legend Ritchard ‘Pepsi’ Maxton before his nose went full Pinocchio!)

Meanwhile, Finlay was delighted by the amount of attention his impressive mullet received from the Scotland squad! The players seemed fascinated by how long he had been growing it — and no doubt a few were quietly jealous of its quality!

Reflecting on the day, Bréagha shared her excitement, saying:

“My favourite part of the day was getting my merch signed and meeting all the players. My favourite was Jonny Gray, of course — but I promised my dad I’d say he’s still my favourite non-international and non-good rugby player!”

Finlay also reflected on the experience, saying:

“I was really happy with the day, and I loved all the attention from the players — they were all really nice, and it made the whole experience even better.”

Moments like this highlight the incredible connections rugby creates, and we’re hopeful this won’t be the last time Hamilton Bulls are part of experiences like this. We’re genuinely grateful to Vodafone for recognising the importance of grassroots rugby and giving our players such a memorable day.

Best of luck to Scotland this weekend — there’ll be a couple of Bulls cheering you on even louder than usual!
